Hi all, what is this bichir?

Picture taking setting: Daylight by the balcony.

thanks in advance !

Looks like a Leucistic Endlicheri with some xanthic tone in it.

Hi Hao, I always liked your BIG Congicus :D though i never posted much in forum, always saw it around.

I understand the term Leucistic and Xanthic, but can they (the genetics) exist together in 1 fish?

Some fish, I've seen that are leucistic, have a little bit of xanthic in them. Lungfish and Barramundi can be an example of 2 color morph in one. I've seen albino piebald lungfish, piebald leucistic lungfish and piebald leucistic barramundi.

+1. Nice pick up. Care to share where and how much you gotten it? PM me if not convenient.

I got it from a friendship trade, so im not really sure how much is this. by saying +1, are you in concurrence of leucistic+xanthic?

i see. so is pure leucistic or pure xanthic or leucistic/xanthic a rarer morph? any other fishes display this "dual-morph"?

I cant say anything regarding the morph, never even seen one in person but i love that fish

A pure leucistic would cost more than this leucistic. This type of leucistic, I believe is what people call the dirty leucistic. :) old looking white. Xanthic would be a lot more yellow/golden.

Most importantly, is it definitely an endlicheri? And there's no chance that it's just a washed out bichir right?

Yeah, it's an Endlicheri. It doesn't look washed out to me. It's on black bottom tank too. I would have doubt if it was in white bottom as well.
