What is this covered in?

Are these rocks covered in calcite? If so is calcite ok for my upcoming african tank?

If it isn't calcite what is it? and is it safe for my african tank?

And please reply quickly because i am setting it up today!

i guess i suppose it could be, but where did you get them, if you got them from outside i would suppose it could be anytype of thing. I would assume with a good cleaning they should be ok but if you got them from outside i would not just throw them in there.

i recieved them from a rock dealer in the area! they are classified as 3in-4in river jack if that helps at all!
