My blue spotted jaw has a white sand-like spot him and I don't know what it is... Please ID and a treatment for it. I just purchased him. I orginally thought it was just sand stuck on him from digging but after a while i realized it wasn't sand.
PLEASE HELP! Don't wanna lose him!

I had a similar problem with my bluespots, but in the jaw area. From my experience (could be a different prob) get him into quarantine and treat for everything safely possible. My first guy died in 24 hours. Second guy got mass treated with sulfa, myracin and copper paired with intermediate RO dips. Healed up well, but the problem came back as soon as we re-introduced him. I think it's some sort of fungus/parasite these guys are prone to get.

Good luck.

is there a certain way to perform the RO dips? i was talking to someone at a LFS and showed pictures and he said that it may be scratches from LR.

put in quarantaine and treat with sulfa, myracin and copper paired with intermediate RO dips , clean previous tank specially gravel or and floor !!
Hope he does good!!!

seriously?
can you say plagarismo?

Looks like a bacterial infection. FW/RO dips only treat external parasites and not every fish can handle it. If he is eating, I have found that medicated foods work great. I use Dr. G's bacterial frozen food. Works great. Not sure if any LFS around you carry his products. If not there is a tetracyclene pellet that works also. API Triple sulfa works as does Melafix.

Thanks a lot, I'll give it a shot.
