from what i've read there are two endlicheri? is it P. endlicheri endlicheri or the other one? you may be right about the CL. so far it has survived a 13" arowana, 5" datnoid, this bichir and 4 others. the CL was a lot cheaper than the 4 other bichirs that he ate already..... do you think it is a she cause it's so fat?

Look at the anal fin (or post a clear pic of it). Fat fin means male, skinny fin means female.

spent the last 30 minutes trying to get a better pic of the anal fin but it is content to lay on the bottom and isn't moving..... is there someplace i can look to see examples of what you mean about fin shape?

thank you :)

way cool.... thanks for the info.

i spent most of last night reading the stickies- lots of great info :)

i'm not questioning you guys but how can you tell that it's not a P. delhezi? i've been looking for replacements to my other bichirs that it ate and it seems like the delhezi and endlich look the same? in the sitcky the delhezi is more silver but on the sites i've looked at they both look the same.....
so my fish will get to 30"? if i want to have more i need to get ones that are bigger than mine is cause he ate the others? or should it go into a tank where it's the only bichir?
