One of my 55 gallon tanks has these small little worms in it- they look exactly like the little bugs ud find in stagnant water. Very small stringy looking things, that just float around and sometimes go crazy wiggling . Ive been keeping fish for around 5 years and have never once seen or heard of this.

I added around 30 guppies as feeders around 3 days ago- idk if this would have anything to do with it.
And please - hold your thoughts on feeder fish, I know they arent great but when you have young finicky fish that wont accept anything else, this is sometimes your only option

Planaria... happens to many of us. You'll find many threads on this. They are harmless, just unsightly. Your fish will likely eat them.

Water changes and filter clean up should get rid of them.

Strange. yea i dont recall seeing anyone else with this problem- may of just missed it. I was just worried they would grow into some kind of crazy fly and start going through my house

Nope, just in your tank :lol3:

x2 what madding said.. a few good water changes personally the better you syphon your gravel/substrate the better. they tend to hide in it most the time. and a good filter cleaning or 2 over the next few weeks.

also cut-back/remove after feeding and make sure your syphoning and cleaning your tank well. they seem to feed offa rotting debris.

I had them...And then I didn't. They didn't really bother me. Just looked a bit creepy

i had them one time in a 30g filter cartrige on a cheap hang-over-the-edge filter lol. nasty little maggot-like things. doing a 45% water change, warming the temps, changing the filter out, and cleaning out the entire filter with HOT water took care of them and ive never seen them again
