kangaroo rat..... i caught something similar years ago while hunting for rattlesnakes.... it was a rare san bernadino kangaroo rat....

Yep, jerboa instead of kangaroo rat, they have bigger ears and are from Africa and Asia instead of USA. Pretty common at pet shops.

One that I like but you won't find for sale here is the springhare, a South African rodent.
