What is this on my fish?

My fh has a red lump inbetween where its gills meet and a white end sticking out of it, what could this be? and how can i destroy it?
i want to act quickly so if i need to do a saline bathe or something i would appreciate quick responces as i don't want to risk loosing my fish.

sorry, I cant get one, but it honestly looks like some kind of parasite, and i know there has to be some common ones that match the description ?
if anyone has any pictures of something similar i could elaborate?

My advice is to go get binox and add in the recommended dose. It kills fungi and bacteria infections within like an hour. plus It's really cheap. I had a huge fungus outbreak in my tank awhile back and the binox started to kill it noticably within and hour and the outbreak was gone in 3-4 hours. It's in a small container with a killifish on the front

If it's a gill parasite the best med is praziquantel.

I will never understand how people start these type of threads and expect answers with no pics. Help us, help you, help your fish. There has to be some way you can get a pic so we have a better idea, and can make a more accurate diagnosis. Barring that, anything we say is just specualtion and more than likely to cause undue stress to your fish as you over medicate it.
