i just noticed that i have a bunch of tiny lil patches of white stuff on the inside of my fish tank...u can see it kinda moving and when i ran a scrubber on the inside the stuff falls off...im thinking its maybe some kinda of algae buildup but im not exactly sure wat it is? anybody have any insight on wat this could be?

If it's milky white soft easily broke apart film like substance it's just the bacteria like you'd grow in your filter for biological filtration.

If it's a new tank you'll generally get it growing in some random places like on logs, suction cups, top of your heater, etc.

Its just algae. I had to put a divider in my 75 and I only had one pleco in the tank. So the side without the pleco had the white stuff you mentioned. I just swap my pleco every two weeks and it will be cleaned over night.

go to the post I made about an unknown unidendifiable white substance I have pics. If that's the same stuff you have then I suppose you will be ok bc I just left it alone and kept my parameters good and now it's gone bc I never see it anymore. I also have a pleco who may have been eating it so you may want to look into getting one if you already haven't

can you see tiny (1mm or so) wormlike white creatures moving individually when get close to the white mass?
