My Texas was attacked by my JD and now has this growth on the side. It's acting fine and eating normally. Doeant seem to bother it.

Anyone know what it is and if it will go away?

I wish i could be more helpful in telling you what this is or what causes it but I'm just not sure. However, about a year ago i had a group of juvie black belt cichlids and 2 of them in the group all the sudden had the exact same thing going on as your tex. What i did was netted both fish and dipped a Q-tip in betadine and gently rubbed the betadine on the ulcer. Did the same thing the following day, took them out and this time just put a drop of the betadine on the area and then by the next day the ulcer or whatever it was started to disappear rapidly and everything was fine. People on this forum gave me this advice a year ago and it worked like a charm so give it a shot it if doesn't appear to be going away on its own. Goodluck!

Interesting. Did u let the betadine sit before putting the fish back in the tank or did u put the fish back after putting it on?
