i cleaned the tank yesterday and the filter. the filter was dirty. amn=0, nitrite=o, ph=7.0

Hi
I'm not sure how long it has been there. Not more then a week and I want to say 3 days its been there. i just noticed it yesterday. I think if you zoom in on the picture you can really see it.

Hello,
I am now treating for dropsy. the scales are protruding and one eye has started to haze over. I put him in a 20 gallon tank using 1.5 teaspoons of salt and using Maracyn two. Some told me to use Kana-Proanyone know about this stuff? I hope he survives this because it cam on quickly and i like this one. My inexpeirence in diagnosing this delayed the treatment. can protruding scales mean something else then dropsy

Adding salt when you suspect a fish has dropsy makes it worse/die faster.

It has a prolapsed anus.. use epsom salt. 1 teaspoon per 5 gallons. Try not to feed her, but if you do, feed her peas. I believe in another thread you made she had just laid eggs.. Try updating 1 thread and making more than 1..

ok then, how would i add the epsom salt when i have already added the aquarium salt. can i just add the epsom salt or do i have to syphon the gravel to remove the salt that i already put in and then add epsom salt.

Its going on the 3rd day of treatment with Mardel Maracyn-Two. So far it is looking good and the Texas is swimming around now and he is swimming level and not straight up and down like he was and also not breathing as heavy. His gills were moving like crazy but he defiantly looks more relaxed and alert rite now. He still has the bloating and pine conning scales but the bloating has not gotten worse. I know he's not thru it yet and might not make it but
I'm trying. Here are some pictures of him in the hospital tank.

I had a small flowerhorn do something simular to that but it was its swim bladder coming out and i couldnt save it, he died a few days later, no one i spoke to knew what it was they just said he probably couldnt be saved if it was its swim bladder.
