What is this stuff????

I built my own wet/dry its a 30 gallon tank with a mag drive 24. filtering a 150 gallon tank and the pic of the stuff that is in question is under the mass amount of pot scrubbies and bio balls next to my heaters.

My Ammonia and nitrites are at 0 and my nitrates have always been below 20.
Is this stuff bad should i tear down the filter and vac it out?

It's just crap that bypasses the filter..splashed over or gets through the prefilter.

Just vac it out and you'll be ok.

You could put a small pump under your media and route some flex tubing to dump that crud back on your prefilter. Might cut back on how often ya have to clean that junk out.

When I do a water change, I vacuum there, too.
