well all i had in my tank was playground sand a couple fish and this lil snail...looks like a crab shell but a snail inside...its freshwater too...maybe someone can iform me of what this is...they started super tiny and this one is the biggest as of now

Malaysian Trumpet Snail (MTS). They are harmless, consume random detritus in the tank, and add very little to your bioload. Most people just think of them as nuisances/pests, I think of them as a great addition to your artificial ecosystem.
 
alot of people use it for their planted tanks. I once bagged these and they stink!!!
 
theyre good for sand substrates since they burrow in the sand and stir it up to get rid of air pockets that might have been created.
