I found him after a water change. I went on vacation for a week and let my grandmother take care of them so that makes sense.

That used to happen *a lot* to me and i think they’re just nematodes. The problem went away soon as i started feeding less and doing more, more thorough water changes. I’ve heard of people taking their fish out of the aquarium and raising the temperature to unbearable levels or just adding smaller fish that eat the worms or even adding chemicals to their aquarium. I find it best to just do multiple major water changes regularly for a week or so and you’ll be fine. I’m not sure wether or not these things are harmful but their presence in my aquariums just irritates me.
