Alright I have come back from my week long vacation, and what I thought was alittle algae before I left has multiplied. Should I leave it or should I vacuum it up? I tried to take a picture of it, but I don't think it turned out too well. I'm in the process of doing a water change, and getting my testing equipment back out (everything in our house is packed into the kitchen and den because we are having our floors refinished)
Anyways here are the pictures, I'll try and get some better ones shortly.

Any and all advice is appreciated.

AH!
DIATOMS GONE WILD!

:D

yeah you could scoop it up off the sand (prolly take a little sand with it) but i had this problem on my first tank and after i got rid of the carpet of algea it was much easier to control

It seems to have spread onto some of the LR, what should I do about that?

hermit crabs, snails, emerald crab, sally lightfoot, etc

Alright, thanks for the quick response!

adding a powerhead or something will help prevent it from comming back as will having it fully established (6+ months old)

a turkey baster would help blow it of the rocks and what not, and then you could syphon it out or let the filter remove it. But yes adding powerheads will help prevent this issue.

dinos are not diatoms? (vise versa?)

I have no clue, trusting you guys to help me out on this one.
