About a month or so ago, I noticed a whitish spot/layer between the eyes of my red severum that had not been there before. I chalked it up to a scrape/injury from going at it with my turquoise severum, as I noticed they had been fighting more frequently than before. I figured it would heal up on its own. A month later, while it does look a little better, it is still not back to normal. I just want to make sure it is not something more serious, like a fungus or anything, and if it is, I want to be able to treat it properly. All of the other fish in the tank are healthy and water parameters are perfect. Here are some pictures I took to hopefully help diagnose the problem.

I added salt to the tank a couple weeks ago and it does not appear to be improving.

Any ideas????

Its a Heros sp. ‘super red’ . or Red Severum :)

^ I think he meant the growth on the eye. ;)

:irked:ROFL.... thats wot i get for not reading the whole thread.

it aslo looks like its right eye (in first pic) is a little swollen. hmmm, might be bacterial

I've tried posting there and have gotten very little response, so I thought I'd try here. Any other ideas and how could this be treated??

that's too bad, but it also might mean no one thought it was too serious.

to me, it looks like the fish is producing mucus, maybe in response to a wound or a parasite . . . in either case, the most I would feel comfortable recommending is isolation (if possible) and salt, and maybe a mild anit-biotic if it still won't clear up . . .
