Anyone able to identify this??

looks like a fungal thing... need to get on top of it asap, has only popped up over a day or 2, any help would be appreciated!

Looks like Vibriosis. Check your water perameters. Do a large 50%+ water change and treat with antibiotics such as Oxytetracycline or Erythromycin you need an antibiotic that will kill gram-negative bacteria.

Thanks heaps for the info/advice mate, do u know if this is contagious? going out now to purchase some anti biotics etc

Yes it is. To be on the safe where rubber gloves incase you have any small cuts on your hands. Keep the water very clean, don't raise the temp above 80F and follow the instructions on the packege for dosing.
