What is this?

My flowerhorn has a white patch on his head. It's not fuzzy like fungus. Could it be dried out? He's always waiting at the top of the tank for food and that part of his head is often out of the water. Did have an ammonia spike but that's under control at this point. Numbers are 0-0-30~ at one point the ammonia hit like .1-.2 on API chem test

Looks like it just banged its head. Should be fine with a little time. If your worried just add some salt to the water.

I thought that but his tank is pretty bare. Maybe banged the glass? Idk. It would have to be a weird angle to hit that part of its head. How long would that last? It's been over a week.

Really need to get a better close up.

Try doing a big water change. Whenever I see anything strange on my fh I just do an extra WC and I immediately see improvements. My oldest fh is around 3 years old now.

I did a wc of about 30%~. I have to get a close up this evening if I can.
