What is this?

I believe its a fungus or a mold. One of the mopani woods in one of my tanks was getting that stuff on it really bad for a while. I kept rinsing it and it eventually stopped.

It never hurt my fish. It's in my betta tank and it never appeared as of it affected him.

I had something like that on a rock. Looks like an algae. 1 night in my bn tank and it was gone.
