I recently had a scare with my discus in a 55g I set up. A long time ago I used the wrong silicone to hold the background on the tank. Since then I scraped all the silicone off and put the background back on and I siliconed all the edges just in case. After about five days I came home to one of my discus really dark and breathing really heavy. I saw this white stuff all over the back of the tank. Moved the discus but just wondering what happened. I THOUGHT I was smelling curing silicone in the tank but I forgot I have silicone curing on the floor right next to the tank. Any ideas?
