It requires the same care as a pictus, 55 gallon ideally and they like to be kept in groups. They will eat small fish and also shouldn't be kept with fish too aggressive or that will eat their barbels, but they can be kept with peaceful cichlids. They are very active and like some open swimming space
False. 55 is to small for a fish that will attain 1'. They don't like to be in groups ime they fight and will try to keep their distance. They are semi aggressive to other species. Can keep them with cichlids as long as the aggression isn't 24/7. They can hold their own. When bigger aren't very active ime. Nothing like pictus, quite the opposite. Due to whiskers length ideally 2' width. 4x2 120 would be minimum tank imo.
