So I bought these odessa barbs off a fish store website and this one came with this raised white cysts like thing so I quarantined them all and picked the thing off of the fish thinking it was some type of hitchhiker pest... well it came back while I was gone this weekend and today I netted the fish took some pictures and took it off again this time I looked closely and the thing was wiggling like a worm but it appears as a circle on the fish any advice on what this is and how to treat

I was gonna say it’s breeding tubercles that they get on their faces when in breeding condition but that looks different. Could be herpes or lymphcystis or some other nasty that’s not common. I’d personally get rid of it for the sake of the other tank inhabitants

This is the worm thing after I picked it off the face there was multiple more inside the gills the fish is dead I didn’t want it spreading in my tank but I bought a school of the fish so who knows how many have them inside
