What is up with my bass? Pics

I get around
The males keep changing the this dark black pattern and trapping the females in a corner before every water change but then go back to normal the day after I do one. They fight and flash each other like crazy. They even stick my FRT's head in there mouth up to the shell to push him away. Is this pre-spawn or just P-bass craziness???? My smallest bass is 12" biggest 20" Sorry for the dirty acrylic.

nice ocellaris!!! does the female fight back???? r u sure its the female getting pushed around?? or is it the male in the corner after every water change??
 
hey bro its usually going to be with males being pushed down and female being more crazy...thats what dieselmack said to me when i had the same question as you but it was for my uncles P bass
 
female will beat the male up to make sure he is strong enough, when breeding.. water changes might put them in the mood.. live food, a small water change a day and a new degree temp bump and maybe you can get them to get it on lol ;).. how big are they and how old? take pics of both fish and post them
 
sweet sounds like u could have a pair rdy to breed in near future. i would say the water changes get them in the mood for sure. if they do pair up u might wanna move other tankmates or divide them up bc i have heard they can get very aggressive to fish geting to close
