Hey guys,

I obtained a porcupine puffer from live aquaria. Currently him and a one spot fox face are currently in my 20 gallon quarantine. The rabbit fish seems fine, but the puffer keeps going up and down the glass sides of the tank. I think he is following a reflection.....but hasn't eaten since. Any help would be appreciated.

If you have any of these ^ fish what do you feed them?

Also as for my tank update, I have:

Male Blue Throat Trigger (In the quarantine he ate a lot, now he bites on the food and spits it out...dk?)

Valentine Puffer (Relative gave it to me)

Neon Dotty Back ^ ^ ^

Snow Flake Eel (He's a great eater, if you have one can you tell me what you feed yours and when?)

Also if curious I have a 72 bow front tank, fluval fx5, protein skimmer, heater, wave makers and live rock. I very proud of the rock formation I created a week ago!

Krill, squid, clams... all good foods for a puffer.

You may want to try some live salt water feeder shrimp to try and get him to eat, if you can find them.

Thanks, I would like to post pics.....but I cant find my camera!!!! I don't now how to post it with my phone.....Btw thanks, I'lll probably go and see what I can buy. Probably some fresh squid at the fish market and I'll see where to find ghost shrimp. Also can anyone explain why my puffer does that?

At one of my LFS, they have a personal tank with a dog face puffer that I have seen do the same thing. I cant tell you if it is something they are doing from distress, etc...

Add a large PVC pipe for him to hide out in. Puffers don't feel comfortable out in the open like that.
I wouldn't put him with a toby.

Hey thanks for the info, btw i have two small pvcs, so i should get just one really big one?...strange he has been going up and down the glass with literally his eyes touching the glass....I could take a vid of it....but can only send it through my phone.....Also I'll get started reading the info, thanks

Does he fit in the smaller ones? Maybe the light is too bright? Be sure to keep a really close eye on those parameters.

Hey, well he likes like he can fit in them....he's a 3 inches. The pvc is like 4inch.....never bothers to go next to them. Also Im guessing I should get rid of the toby?

I'm afraid the porc will eventually pick on the toby. Eventually the porc will need a bigger tank.
