So I notice this yesterday. His butt is swollen. It looks like it might be preventing him from pooping. Also his stomach is getting bigger. Is this a case of Bloat? I've seen bloat before but that doesn't cause his butt to bloat as well does it? He seems to be calm and not breathing eratically but he is not eating. Please help. Thanks.

Dose the tank with aquarium salt see if it goes away if not someone on here will direct you to the correct medicine

Looks like the begining of a prolapsed rectum. Could be a blockage it's hard to tell from that picture. What and how often do you feed it?

You could feed a few skinned peas and try and epsom salt bath. For the bath use 1 tsp of epsom salt per gallon in a seperate tank or container. Use some tank water and completly desolve the epsom salt in warm water before adding to the container, mix and then put the fish in for 15 -20 mins. Between the peas and epsom salt if its a blockage it should clear it. If it clears don't feed for 48 hours. I wouldn't feed the fish anyway for at least 48 to 72 hours weather you do what I said or not.

+1. I have heard that soaking food in epsom sometimes also does the trick, but I would do what Aquanero said just to be sure.

i feed it hikari floating pellets and i only feed it once a day and skip weekends because the tank is at my work. he does not eat at the moment. i will try the epsom salt bath and hopefully that works. thanks guys!
