I moved this thread which was a response to a post.
With which tank manufacturers have you had the best experience?
We intend to purchase a 120 gallon custom acrylic aquarium 48x24x24 (need a small footprint) from Oceans Edge Dreams, http://www.oceansedgeaquarium.com/ . Since we're not independently wealthy, we want to do it right the first time. Can anyone provide feedback on this tank maker? It sounds like they do quality work and they're in our back yard. In addition their stands are powdered steel. Given all of this I don't expect to flood our apartment.
Glass Cages can produce an inexpensive aquarium. Midwest Custom utilizing Polycast acrylic also seems to do good work although their stands are more expensive. Tropical Fish Stores offers a Tenecor tank for about $1,000.
It would really help to know people's direct or indirect experience with these manufacturers and as well as other tank makers.
I plan on running two Spin Down filters ahead of two Eheim 2028's to boost mechanical filtration. A reusable 5 micron filter follows, and then a 1 micron filter. These proceed a 36 watt UV and an ion exchange filter.
