What kind of Angelfish are these?

I was kinda thinking the sane thing. Someone told me that they looked like "wild type" angel fish because of the red eyes.

They are the same thing. The silver color is the wild type. Both wild and tank-bred silvers have red eyes.

I see... interesting. I love their color especially in the last couple of shots. BTW how much harder are Altums to care for?

They're getting ready to spawn I think.

Hi They are scalare. Or silver angels. Damn nicely colored ones at that. Altums are way harder and way less forgiving to look after than scalare.

My fish are getting ready to spawn again. Thier color strikingly resembles the second to last picture now. What causes this good coloring? Other than that they are getting ready to breed? Is it just that they have good genes?
