Like 99% of the angels in the hobby, it is a hybrid. I would say this particular one is probably the result of crossing a black angel with a silver angel, but keep in mind that "black" and "silver" aren't actual species... they're just trade names for two of the many color variants that have been produced. There are also koi angels, blue angels, smoky angels, and many more. All of these are domesticated angels that have resulted from decades of outbreeding, hybridizing, and line breeding. They're often erroneously referred to as "Pterophyllum scalare," but the only way you can get a real P. scalare is by obtaining them from a reputable breeder, or by obtaining wild-caught individuals.
