i have a 30 gal long right now with just a convict in it and was wondering what else i can keep in there with it. would a pictus catfish do alright for life? also i plan on adding other peaceful fish after i remove the con tomorrow, like my angelfish, tetras, and i might get some barbs

Angels and barbs dont mix. Barbs will nip their fins. You can add some SA bumble bee catfish, or banjo cat, or a raphael. Pictus is alright but I hear they get like 7-10 inches. Theyre slow growing though.

Pictus are large schoaling fish, so I would leave them out of the picture. A group of 5 or 6 corydoras would be cool though.

i was thinking about the cories a lot and prob will go with them. ive read quite a few sources that say pictus only reach 4-5". if this is true, i plan on keeping three of them in the tank alone

hey btw, you didnt say "cheers-art" at the end of your post :(

You could do both, really.

Pimelodus pictus get 5-6'', most true corys (what I mean by that is not any brochis species) get 2 inches or so. If you went with both, you wouldn't be able to much else though.

Cheers,
art ;)

I have seen pics of them on this site at 6" (on a ruler out of water). I would only question if three is enough for a proper school/shoal.
