what kind of cichlid tank?

i can't make up my mind as to which kind of tank i want. i love the look of a SA/CA tank but also love the look of a mbuna/peacock tank. anyone who has or had both tanks, which did you enjoy more? was either one harder to keep?

we have both.. i am absolutely drawn to SA ciclids, especially peacock bass and angelfish.

my son wanted an african tank for his birthday, so we set one up. They are pretty but they lack the presence that peacock bass have..

Although I have seen some beautiful African setups, even rivaling saltwater. The sa/ca cichlids are more entertaining to me.

well the tank isn't big enough to house p-bass, even though im not attracted to p-bass. its going to be a 55g tank

CA/SA without a doubt! Much more personality. I have both.

for a 55 gallon I say african. go with peacocks and smaller mbuna most ca/sa on average get alot larger and alot faster. for african I suggest black sand, slate rock caves and a dark colored or rock style back ground.
