Definitely a Common Snapper, not an Alligator Snapper. The OP seems to know that much already.

I'm with Vicious, wild snappers can be found this light, and most snappers lighten in captivity.

I haven't caught any with the shell THAT light, but certainly found plenty in the areas I crayfish that have light shells and light skin. More of a light yellow/caramel type color shell. So, I love the light coloration of yours!
 
Just a normal common snapper. It just doesn't have all of the wavy green algae growing on it.
 
It's just a very healthy common snapper. I have seen wild xanthic snappers before, and they look odd. They kind of glow under the water's surface.
