What kind of dithers do you use with your aro?

I need some dither fish for my 180 gallon tank because of some aggression, and I was wondering what kind of dithers are safe to use with a 12" black arowana.

I was thinking tinfoil barbs, but I'm worried they'll nip at my arowana. (I really like tinfoils)
I don't want to use any sort of silver dollar, already have some in a different tank.

So what should I use? (It must get at least 7" long, I have endi's. )
They also need to shoal, I plan on getting 5-8.

I use Redhook SDs as chewtoys, I mean dithers, for my Green aro. You could try large bala sharks maybe? Tinfoils are pretty mellow, can't see them nipping at an aro...

I was thinking about them, but they're nippers and my preds will eat them for sure.

Since you say tin foils are mellow, I'll try them.
Bala's are too thin, my poly's destroyed one that I once had.

Just make sure they're smaller ones lol. Blacks get freaked out by big, active fish. There are other large barbs like spanners and filamenteds that might be good too. I'd avoid active top swimmers like Apollo sharks too.

I already have some in a different tank and want to mix it up.

thank you, I'll get them at 4", so they don't get eaten and won't freak out the aro

Bala sharks and discus will never work in my tank, I have a large carpinte x texas in ther with my arowana and other preds. I have geos in another tank, so unfortunately, no.
