Found these eggs on my way to my fishing spot. Anyone know what they could be?

Kinda looks like a fungus? Not sure of any type of animal that lays eggs like that.

When I worked at a drinking water plant on Lake Michigan, we would occasionally get colonies that would clog intake pipes.
There are some species in Lake Baykal that form vast underwater forests and resemble marine sponges

I looked up those Baikal bryozoans. Pretty interesting.
