I have a male and female swordtail and the female is showing signs of breedingbut I am afraid my filter will suck up all of her fry so I think I need a different filter

What kind of filter do yu have?

You could always put some pantyhose/wire mess over the filter intake.

I have a pretty basic filter I forget the stupid name the filter started out as my sisters then she had to get a new filter for her beta (its a small tank) it doesnt have any sponge or anything on the intake rod.
