I know this is some kind of cichlid, but I'm entirely not sure what. Why you may ask? I bought this fish in a lot of fish at auction that came with a giant Taiwan Reef, all the other fish were younger Taiwans with the exception of this one that somehow was stuck into the lot. The personality isn't all that aggressive, but it will stand its ground.

I'm deciding whether to keep or give away this fish. He is currently in a tank with peacocks and the Taiwan Reef.

Are they sort of bluish in normal light? Mine look similar. I was told they were 'Kenyi'.

No, the fish in the foreground isn't the same as the one in the background. It might be slightly blue (very slightly, if at all) but it is not a Kenyi, I've owned Kenyis before.

Hmmm... I'm not convinced that it is that either. The fish in the background of the first photo is in no way related to the fish that I'm attempting to identify here. Thanks for everyone weighing in! I'd like to hear more opinions.

Just guesses:
Washed out Malawian eye biter (Dimidiochromis compressiceps ) or
Washed out Haplochromis Sunset (Dimidiochromis Strigatus)???
