I noticed a white dot on one of my Ctenos and thought its just a piece of sand. But it did not go away so i feared its ich...I catched him out and took a closer look on it. It was on his back, very close to one of the spines of his ventral fin. I scratched with my fingernail on it and it "plopped off from it´s fix position and started to crawl away. It´s some kind of small worm. The fish feels happy, eats good and swims around normal. So what is this?

Not ick, is ur substrate dirty? Could be planaria, although they stick on glass usually but most likely a result from dirty conditions and left over food. Vac substrate 50% wc repeat everyother day and maybe 1tbspn of salt per 5-10 gals

The tank is just 3 weeks old and the substrate is fine. Its definitly not planaria. The Ctenos are wc so any other suggestions? Could it help if i make the temps higher? Would be 30°C too much for my bichirs and Ctenos?

Maybe hook worm or something like that, not ick, don't think it's planaria.I've had it before and it never bothered my fish and the fish didn't bother them. After all the reading I've done on planaria fish are suppose to eat them but in my case when I had them noo wouldn't eat them.
