what kind of fish?

I was at my LFS and they had what i thought looked like a wolf fish, they called it a pike something, it wasnt a pike cichillid, i dont know what it was. Can someone tell me what kind of fish it could have been? it was in a fairly big tank with a silver dolla, arrowana, BGK. a pic might help too

i think it was a wolf fish, because there was a "gar" like fish in there too and i think thats what they were referring to when they told me the name

Could it have been a bowfin? Google pics of both and let us know which one it was..

it definately wasnt a bowfin, its gonna sound stupid, but looking at it head on made it look like a T-Rex, yu could see its teeth and it had a narrow bottom jaw, it was too think to be a gar also

Yea when you said T-Rex head I thought wolf fish right away. Does it sit on the bottom?

yea, there were 3 in the tank, around 9 inches. one was a little active 2 i actualy had to look for...so yea im gonna assume wolf fish
