what kind of gar is this?

I just picked this gar up. Its about 10" but I don't know what kind of gar it is. Marble? Fish dude said he wasn't sure. Is it even a gar ? I see not every gar claim is legit.

Defiantly a gar, looks like a spotted to me. Could be a Florida, but it looks more like a spotted. Lets see what some of the others have to say.

As stated above...FL/Spotted. Likely Florida, but it's very hard to distinguish..

May I ask how you know its 100% platyrhincus? If there is some new info that I am unaware of (great chance there is)...I would love to know!

I'm starting to wonder if my Spotted Gar that I've had for about 4 years is really a Florida gar

if it came from an LFS, there is a great chance of it being a florida gar.
