I picked up these two from a tank where they were labeled “assorted geophagus”
My initial thought was pelligrini. There’s a bit of orange on the heads. Can anyone confirm or clarify?

My guess would be juvenile geophagus steindachneri. They have more distinct vertical barring as youngens...

Having said that, they could also be hybrids. LFS often label things as "assorted" that come from farms where mixed species are kept in ponds together. Its a terrible practice ffor preserving pure genetics, but alot of these places flood and separate species get mixed because of that.
