What Kind of Knifefish

I second this, I don't think it's a variation rather than a different species.

It's a juvi CK. They have stripes at a young age and will develop spots as they mature. And I know there's going to be some other comments of what it is...IT'S NOT A RCK.

I have never seen a ck with stripes that go across the back like that even as juveniles but it's possible. I'm wondering if it could be those so called tiger clown knives that's been popping up on wholesalers list from time to time. I might just have to order one and find out. Could it be a juvenile Chitala Chitala?

Not Chitala Chitala. I do believe that they are still patternless when juvies.
I've never seen a good shot of a juvie Ck with stripes... and now I have.

looks like a juvi GCK to me, sould loose the stripes as it matures. In the meantime....enjoy!

Look like juv Notopetus more than juv normal CK for me. Noway to keep this pattern when it is bigger.
