I am taking all of the white sand out of my tank and putting in black PFS. I want a new light so that my tank will look darker, kind of like what you see in a lot of frontosa tanks. So i was wandering what kind of light you think i should buy..Links would be great!

two questions.

What size tank are you attempting to luminate?
Are you looking for a new fixture or just replacing the bulbs?

I imagine that if your changing substrate color from light to dark you will likely lose some of the intensity from the light you have now.

I recently went to TAP's Plastic and bought a small sheet of smoke colored plastic to lower the intensity of my bulbs. so that is something you can consider.

The tank will look darker w/the light you have from the new substrate. Use the black sand w/your current lights and see how it looks after everything settles. Then determine if you want new lights.

ok thanks...it is a 29g and i just wanted to replace the bulbs to try and get a darker bluish look in the tank but i will change to the black PFS first then see..

Actinics will give you the blues...
