What kind of line should I use to go carp fishing. The carp that I have seen are around 24" maybe more. Right now I have 14lb shakespeare red cajun line....any good? Sorry I am new to fishiing don't know much about it.
How are you going to fish for them? Float or ledger also what sort of rod are you using? Last of all what’s the water like open or full of snags?
To tell the truth I really don't know what you mean by those types of fishing....I have an ugly stick. I know it may not be the best pole but it is just a begginer pole for me. And the pond is open. No snags or anything.

Sorry LOL I used to baffle Dan with this sort of thing now he speaks fluent Carp, and we will have you all speaking carp soon and YES I said CARP.
Ok if its an open pond no snags just try float fishing for them corn is good and worms work well if they are not fished for a lot he simple methods work well size 10 hook 3 grains of corn on it rig as shown throw in a few handfuls sit back and hold onto your pants. 10lb line will be fine
in my mind the line size is not the issue, it's the experience of the fisher i have seen 40lb salmon reeled in on 6lb test....in other words the bigger then fish and lighter the line ..the better the catch
My brother reeled in a close 35-40lb carp on a 4lb test on a ultralight be he fought it in a hour. I like haveing the biggest test u can have so I know im getting the fish in.
