What kind of Loach????

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It looks similar to a Sumo Loach, but I don't think it is. Probably similar water conditions. I've tried finding it on http://www.loaches.com/ but I didn't nail an exact. I don't own the loach though so I don't have access to clearer pictures or the "colour of the day", heh heh. You can try popping on there thought, they have a good "match by image" browsing set-up.

Thanks, i went to loaches.com and their forum and posted him on their and a red tailed sand loach/burmese border loach seem to be the most common :)

I have a red-tailed sand loach, and it does look very similar to this. Mine is in a fairly small tank, so I do not have a group of them. I also have a sumo loach and three of the "hillstream loaches/ butterfly plecos" in that tank, and they all seem to get along pretty well. There are a lot of rocks and stuff to break up the lines of vision, but they actually seem to hang out in the same areas together quite a lot.
