What kind of mahseer is this?

They are about 3.5 to 4 inches. Being sold as golden mahseer. I'd like to know scientific name.

I am not sure what you have there is the real golden mahseer... more likely, it isn't.

But if it is the golden mahseer, then its scientific name is Tor putitora (According to The ICUN Red List of Threated Species... Click here -> http://www.iucnredlist.org/details/166645/0)
and it seems to be endangered species...

Their color certainly holds a passing resemblance to an adult putitora, but most of the little ones I've see weren't colored like that. I'm inclined to think they're not putitora, but rather some species of barb.
