Mile High in Northern AZ, baby!~
BuBa changes color from dull grey to shiney silver to black...I know I'm not seein' things and I understand that at certian angles the light reflects differently, What's up?
Do they color change acording to their surroundings?

Here are some pix of his bright and dark color...

Black PACU

That's what I figured, he has a bunch of colors he turns and being 20" you sure notice him alot. Thankz ~Z

Fish can change they colour. It depends on their diet and their mood.
I knew it was his mood. It's to many colors because of diet.(always the same)
When he is feeding he gets all bright and appears to be very happy.
When resting his color seems to fade out to pale.
Right before he wacks a visiting, fin nipping cichlid he gets really dark, he even looks pissed. Thankz for the insight.~Z

that's a red bellied pacu.

NOT a black pacu. major difference about a black pacu is, first of all, they are RARE. they have a protruding lower jaw, and surprisingly, they are NOT all black in coloration! they are more greenish on top and black on the bottom with a MUCH elongated body.

Yep, Ming's right. It looks like a red bellied pacu to me.
