Hello All,

Im setting up a 65 gallon aquarium tomorrow, and would like some advice
on the types of tropical fish that you all have had experience with.

I would like to have a variaty of fish, and just not one particular species.

Im finding that convicts are really agressive towards eachother...or is that just
cichlids in general.

I would like to go with the more peaceful tropical...but have a few different
types.

Does anyone have any recomendations of what type of tropical fish work
well together in a 65?

Any help would be great!!!!

Thanks.

Ryan

Clown loaches are great, and will leave most fish alone.

Piranha :D Oh sorry..

Gouramis work well if the tank is planted and also some tetras such as the congo tetra.

Welcome to MFK,

First: If you set up the tank now, you still have several days to contemplate your stocking list. Start with just a few hardy fish, increase the number slowly in order to allow beneficial bacteria to colonize your tank/filter. You can speed things up by using old filter media from one of your other tanks.

Second: If you are interested in small peaceful fish, you may want to also check out our sister site www.AquariaCentral.com They are more focused on non-/\/\onsters.

Have you thought about a couple of schools of tetras with corydoras as clean-up crew? That's a classic.

They get a little big (12+ inches) for a 65 gallon.
