what kind of peacock bass is this?

hey, i've had this peacock bass for a while now, and i'm wondering what type it is? i know it's Cichla ocellaris but i know there are about 4 sub-types, does anyone know?
 
Type? :) right now with that color unstable you would be lucky to confirm the Species that you already have confirmed :D Give it some time and work to stabilize that beast :)

agreed...what do you mean by sub type?variant?
 
looks ocell too me.. once the colours really settle in alot more can be told.. ;)
 
ocell? what do you mean? i posted this in a different section of this form and people all said it was mono. what does that mean?

mono - cichla monoculus
ocell - cichla ocellaris
 
hi,

please help identify these cichlas. they are about 3"-3.5"

is it possible to distinguish mono from ocell by markings alone?
