What kind of Pike Cichlids is this??? (Photo)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Probably expensive - not commonly seen in the USA, don't know about Hong Kong....
Fish in the photo looks mature - what size is it? Lacustris group pikes can be ultra aggressive, usually have to be kept alone. Really nice dorcellata you have!

OK - good to hear your female isn't too aggressive, does well in a community tank, that's great! What I meant was intolerence with same species lacustris tankmates - we've had problems with ours. Our small male killed a few other type SA cichlids in a community tank, now lives alone. Get the male dorcellata pike if not too expensive, you might get lucky and end up with a pair that tolerates each other. If so their colors are better plus watching a pairs interaction can be facinating & interesting. You may have to start with a divider between them - that way they'll smell & get used to each other.
