It's an undescribed species, so you'll see it identified as Crenicichla sp. 'cobra' or Crenicichla sp. 'tapajos II'.

Its in between its baby colors and its adult color. SWEET!

Unfortunately they lose the cool pattern. Female become an overall bright orange with bright red splotches on the gill covers. Males are similarly colored but not as bright.

This is a female albeit a bit over exposed. They are not this bright.

Yeah, that was DM's male Crenicichla sp. 'cobra'.....gorgeous pike...unfortunately he passed it on to someone else, and it got eaten...
