What kind of pleco do you think this is?

Kind of an odd ball, can you guess what pleco it is? He's currently 3".

My initial thought was some type of mutant patterned gold nugget (Baryancistrus). Yes, maybe someone on Planet Catfish will have some thoughts. Did you take this picture at a shop in CA? Surprised something like this didn't go to Asia. If you can, take a picture of the mouth, which can help with further identification.
