It is hard to see but the pleco has something similar to royal whiskers, just spread out a little and some spikes on the pectoral fins.

Thanks

My guess is Dekeyseria brachyura or at least that genus given the flatness of the head. Common name butterfly Pleco.

Defently a flathead pleco. I thought the flatness was cool and that is why I bought it.

How about an L052, Atabapo Butterfly?

L52 and L168 are both in the Dekeyseria genus. Either is a reasonable guess and both are commonly referred to as butterfly plecos.

L168 is Dekeyseria brachyura.
L52 is Dekeyseria (sp).

Stripes are supposedly less clearly separated on L52 and L168 is supposedly slightly oranger.

Perhaps I'd lean to L52 like you suggest with that difference.

Just my thoughts.

Wow nice one :)

LFS here has a couple but after my frustrating attempts with unstable Dats, i am hesitant to buy fishes which change colour :P Does not help that my substrate is black.

Good sized ones for around 40 dollars.
